Plot summary
The singer Lorna Davis is weary of her career and her loneliness, so she heads for a friend's cabin in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to rest through the Christmas season. The cabin is not empty: seven orphans from the orphanage in town are hiding there, and the youngest calls her the Angel. The children do not want to be found and Lorna does not want anyone in Los Angeles to know where she is, so they agree to keep each other's presence a secret. Winning over Jake, the eldest, takes the longest. Harry, a paparazzo, has followed her to the mountains. Jezebel, a mountain witch woman, means to kill her for drawing the eye of Sheriff John Jensen. Mountain Dan, a wandering mountain man, knows the ways of the mountain folk.
