Plot summary
A flash of lightning pulls Shinzaemon Kosaka out of the Edo period and sets him down in the present day, in Kyoto, where the ground he was about to fight on is now a film set for jidaigeki television shows and movies. He is still in his samurai clothes, and the people there mistake him for an extra and push him straight into production work. His look and his speech are so authentic that he is hired on one production after another, playing a kirareyaku, a swordsman whose part is to be cut down on camera, and he becomes successful at it.
