Plot summary
At 32, Ichiko lives at her parents' house in self-indulgent, slovenly idleness, doing little with her days. Her younger sister Fumiko, recently divorced, has moved back in with her son. Within a week the sisters' rivalry turns into a physical fight, and their mother asks Ichiko to move out. With few options for work, she takes a night job at a 100 yen shop and finds a place of her own.
