Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade (2015)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Kickstarter funded the 2015 sequel film Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade, announced at Anime Expo: the $150,000 goal was reached in five hours, and by 8 August the campaign had raised $625,518, about 60 million yen at the time.
- When Andrew was created for the 2017 TV series in script meetings, director Yoh Yoshinari planned a romance between him and Akko, but Naoko Tsutsumi and others objected that it would mislead viewers, so romance was dropped and Akko became a girl with no interest in men.
- Unlike earlier TRIGGER works, Little Witch Academia was made for all ages with almost all sexual content removed: from the Anime Mirai version on Akko's skirt interior was drawn as a single red colour, Asura's cleavage was omitted from the TV version, and Naoko Tsutsumi supervised the skirt so it stayed long.
- Director Yoh Yoshinari said the story grew out of a producer's suggestion of "a witch story" for the Anime Mirai project and the idea of reworking a tale about rookie animators, so he wrote it around the mood of "rookie animators who came because they admired late-night witch anime".
- In 2022 the National Institute of Informatics, with TRIGGER's permission, compiled the Anime Mirai version's production materials into a "TRIGGER Data Set" and announced it would provide them to universities and research institutes studying automatic image generation.
- Although every Luna Nova student has a fixed colour design, hair and skin colouring mistakes were frequent — white students were drawn as black and black students as white in some scenes — and the discs kept the mistakes uncorrected.
