Plot summary
Sylvia is now a famous actress, and her schedule keeps her away from Peter, Michael and Jack, the three men who share her home and help raise her five-year-old daughter, Mary. Peter designs buildings and Michael draws cartoons, while Jack finds little acting work. Sylvia is dating the director Edward Hargreave, who wants to marry her, but she is unsure how a marriage would affect Mary. Her mother Vera tells her that Peter may never speak of what he feels. Wanting a marriage and a family, Sylvia accepts Edward and announces that she and Mary will move to England after the wedding. Unwilling to lose Mary, Peter and Michael follow them there.
