Plot summary
Suddhi walked out on her husband Abasiri and the village years ago. Abasiri and his young friend Mani are called to the city to identify a woman found dead there after a sexual assault, and the body is Suddhi's. At the mortuary Abasiri sees his wife naked for the first time. Lenin is angry that he was tricked into carrying a corpse, but when he sees Suddhi's body he agrees to transport it. Abasiri keeps his distress to himself and struggles to claim some part of her as his own, setting out with the coffin through hill country while newspaper reports and rumor have already reached his village about how Suddhi died.
