Plot summary
In 1992, the filmmaker Jack Hussar comes back to Hollywood after a long time away, hunting for money to make a new project. His arrival brings a run of episodes: he drinks freely, takes up with a woman named Diana, and clashes with the studio executives whose backing he needs. Twenty years pass, and his son, Jack Hussar Jr., lands in the same town to direct his first feature. The elder Jack Hussar still commands respect and admiration from his fans, and the question the younger man faces is whether he has inherited his father's gift. The screenplay draws on Leo Tolstoy's 1856 story "Two Hussars."
