Plot summary
Kunwar Veer Singh and his wife Shivangi live in London, where she is a princess from Sikar. A locket reaches Veer from an unknown sender in Rajasthan, and soon afterward his health collapses. His body twists and he growls in strange languages; the hospital calls it tetanus and can do nothing. Kesar Ma, Shivangi's handmaiden, calls it black magic. Shivangi travels to her family in Rajasthan, where an exorcist tries and fails to confront what holds Veer, then sends them to a shaman known as Mewar Baba, whose real name is Jai Singh Gujjar. Years earlier, Shivangi loved Jai, and she testified against him in a case that sent him to prison for five years. She goes to ask him for help.
