Plot summary
Sakshi is eight months into her pregnancy, works at an NGO and lives in the city with her husband, Hemant. Men he owes money to beat and threaten him over a loan he took for a business plan, so the couple slip away to the village of their driver and take shelter in a house standing among sugarcane fields. There they meet the driver's wife, Devi, an orthodox woman, and Sakshi slowly forms a bond with her. Hemant leaves to look for a way out of their money problems. Three children tease Sakshi, and Devi tells her not to go near them; when Sakshi ignores the warning, the two women fall out.
