Plot summary
In a New York City park, the life-changing troubles of a varied group of people play out in separate stories that share the same location. Josh meets Lita there and, seeing that something is troubling her, offers her coffee to ease her stress. Their talk turns humorous until a paging signal on Lita's phone breaks in and the two leave for the destination it names. June is on a train with a red rose whose leaves are falling apart. She reaches the park to see her husband, Michael, and they speak about their children and about her sister's relationships. The days between these meetings are marked on screen, showing time passing around the bench and its immediate area.
