Plot summary
Danny Fisher is a New Orleans police officer who, with his partner Hank Carver, gets involved when the FBI hunts arms dealer Miles Jackson. Danny tracks Jackson down, and during the confrontation Jackson's girlfriend and accomplice Erica Kessen is accidentally killed. A year later Danny wears a detective's badge, and Jackson, out of prison, phones him. Jackson has taken Danny's girlfriend Molly Porter, and he has twelve challenges for Danny to solve against the clock; if Danny cannot finish them, Molly dies. The first task is the remote detonation of Danny's car and his house. FBI agents George Aiken and Ray Santiago help Danny work out the clues, while Jackson cuts off each call and swaps SIM cards to hide his trail.
