Zucchero Sugar Fornaciari (2023) on Netflix

Plot summary

The documentary about Zucchero Sugar Fornaciari, an Italian singer, builds its portrait out of his own words and out of what colleagues and friends say about him. Several of them appear: the film hears from other musicians and from people close to his career. Alongside those voices are two sets of images, pictures he has kept in his own archives and footage from the World Wild Tour, the last of his world tours. Together they take the film past a simple record of a career that went well. It also turns to the doubts and the frailties he has spoken about.
