Plot summary

Emilio, a banker in the early stages of Alzheimer's, is left at a nursing home by his son, who tells him he will be happier there. His roommate Miguel, who never married and has no children, shows him around and is frank about how the home runs, from the pool nobody swims in, kept so families feel better, to the top floor for residents who cannot care for themselves. Miguel makes a little money from other residents for favors they will never need. Dolores keeps her husband Modesto off that floor, and Antonia says she came by choice, so as not to burden her family.
