Plot summary
Birdboy lives alone on an island whose factory exploded, killing the fish and leaving a landfill. The blast also left a crow-like demon trapped inside him, so he holds Dinki, a mouse girl, at a distance. Birdman, Birdboy's father, once flew over the island carrying a satchel of glowing golden acorns until the police shot him. Dinki steals her parents' happy pills for Birdboy and saves coins with Sandra the rabbit and Little Fox for a trip to the city. Zachariah, a piglet with a fishing boat, sells Birdboy drugs and saves money of his own to leave, but stays to look after his mother, whose addiction takes the form of a spider demon. Short of the fare, Dinki and her friends plan to steal Zachariah's savings.
