Plot summary
Mike Callahan, an Irish national and a war veteran, earns his living as a private detective in Singapore. A former flame of his, now a nightclub singer, asks him to look into her husband, Julian March, whom she suspects of criminal dealings. The trail leads Callahan to Alexis Pederas, who has drawn March into a scheme to abduct the nuclear scientist Sean O'Connor and sell him to the highest bidder. Only four men in the world can detonate the hydrogen bomb, and O'Connor is one of them. British authorities in Singapore are chasing the syndicate behind the plan as well.

- Robert Aldrich claimed the screenplay was almost entirely the work of uncredited blacklisted writer Hugo Butler; Aldrich put his own name on it hoping to win Butler credit, but a Writers Guild arbitration gave sole screen credit to Lindsay Hardy instead.
