Plot summary
Harry Valentini and Moe Dickstein sit at the bottom of Newark mob boss Anthony Castelo's crew, handling jobs like watching his goldfish and testing bulletproof jackets. They dream of opening a Jewish-Italian delicatessen. Sent to Meadowlands Racetrack to place Castelo's bet, Harry switches horses at the last second because Castelo usually chooses wrong. This time Castelo fixed the race, and the two now owe him $250,000. After a night of torture, each agrees to kill the other, neither knowing the other has the same order. They steal Frank "The Fixer" Acavano's Cadillac and drive to Atlantic City to ask Harry's uncle Mike, a retired mobster, for help.
