Plot summary
An event planner in Los Angeles, Chelsea Whitmore misses out on a Vice President promotion and quits, then heads to Vail, Colorado, where she has inherited her late uncle Grady's chalet. Grady was a pastry chef whose apple strudel drew customers to a Bavarian restaurant in the alpine village. The chalet needs urgent repairs, so Chelsea hires Owen Becker, a local contractor. She befriends his father Karl, who owns the restaurant and now struggles against chains run by outsiders. Owen shows her the town's scenic spots and tells her he set aside an architecture career to help his father. Chelsea finds Grady's strudel recipe, recreates it, and organizes Strudelfest to bring visitors to Old Vail.
