Plot summary
Wilson is a lonely, neurotic middle-aged man in Minnesota whose dog Pepper is his only companion. He has been divorced from Pippi for seventeen years. His friend Robert moves away with his family, and his father dies of terminal cancer. Hoping to meet someone, Wilson approaches a woman at a pet store and rear-ends her car. A different woman, Alta, takes an interest and goes out with him. She helps him find Pippi online, and Wilson decides to track her down.
