Plot summary
A virus named VXII, the deadliest ever made, spread across the world and killed most of its people. The survivors who were not infected live in four quarantined cities behind a white wall. Shawn Kors came through the outbreak as a child with his brother Jude, and the two grew up in a squalid internment camp for orphans. The militia pitted the camp's children against one another in backwoods death matches, and Shawn, Jude and a few others escaped and gained a reputation for their fighting. The brothers went their separate ways. Shawn now works as a janitor at a medic station and spends his days thinking about a cure for VXII. He finds the body of a friend from the camp, and the discovery pushes him out of hiding into a conspiracy.
