Plot summary
It is 1975 in a working-class part of Brooklyn. Brian and Danny Leary are teenage brothers. Their father is abusive, and their mother is well-meaning but ineffective. The two brothers are caught up in petty crime. Danny, the older one, works out a plan to steal enough money for the two of them to escape, timed to a Rolling Stones concert. Brian, the younger and more sensitive brother, keeps a talent for art hidden.
