Plot summary
Star athlete Mason Raymore dies during a basketball game at his high school. Months afterward, transfer student Chrys Willet is given his old locker, and inside it she finds a skull-shaped whistle. After a clash with Mason's former teammate Dean, Chrys, her cousin Rel, Dean's girlfriend Grace and Ellie are sent to detention. Mr. Craven takes the whistle and blows it to test it, and Rel steals it back. The sound draws apparitions shaped like each hearer's own death, stalking whoever heard it.
