Plot summary
Jeff is an anxious man in his thirties. He left MIT, and for several years he has run Winkys World, a dilapidated bowling alley in the Chicago suburbs. The routine suits him, and he has built a video game modeled on the lanes. His coworkers include Stanford, the teenaged nephew of the owner, Carl, and Sheila, Carl's ex-wife, who handles operations. Sheila tells him Carl means to sell the alley and close it within 30 days. Jeff has no life outside his work and does not want to lose it.
