Plot summary
Bastien is thirteen and at the center of a family assembled from several marriages and divorces. His mother Sophie and his father Philippe have both remarried, and so have their former partners, which leaves him with six half-siblings: Clara, Gulliver, Oscar, Eliott, Léopoldine and Juliette. The children divide their weeks between the homes of eight adults, packing a bag every few nights to move to another parent's apartment. The schoolwork is the easy part. They are tired of being passed around, so they decide to turn the arrangement around, settle together in one large apartment, and let the adults do the traveling from then on.
