Plot summary
Elena and her husband Mario have raised Vincent, who is sixteen and autistic, since Mario adopted him. Willy, the boy's biological father, is a singer. One evening, heavily drunk, he slips into the house, and Elena throws him out. Woken by the shouting, Vincent listens to them argue, and Willy meets the son he had never seen. In the morning Vincent has disappeared: he is hidden under a tarp in the back of Willy's pickup, and Willy, unaware, sets off toward the stops on his tour. At lunch Vincent will eat only potatoes. When Willy tries to talk with him, the boy recites his own name, his birth date in Trieste, his mother, his adoption by Mario, and the name of his father.
