Plot summary
Claude Eastman conducts a prestigious symphony and has lately married Daniella, a woman much younger than he is. Away on a trip, he asks his friend Norman Robbins to watch Daniella, but Claude's Italian valet Giuseppe muddles the message, and Norman engages the private detective Jess Keller. Keller's report comes with a fuzzy video: a man visited the flat and left at an unusual hour, and his argyle socks point to Maxmillian Stein, a violinist in the orchestra and Claude's protege. Claude confronts Daniella and Maxmillian apart from each other, and neither gives him an explanation that settles his suspicions. Convinced of the affair, he begins to plan a murder.
