Plot summary
Five gangs hold the South district, and their leaders, Jimmy, Coffee, Jupiter, Sand and Man Ching, share power there. Jimmy's wife Cheung Wah runs their business so well that his gang has become the richest of the five, while Man Ching watches his own territory shrink. The police wait for one chance to move against them all. At a dinner with senior figures, Jimmy is shot in the head by a young man with a gun. Cheung Wah calls a halt to every deal and gives Po, her husband's right hand, the job of finding who is behind the shooting without letting word spread. With Jimmy in a coma, the other gangs begin to seize ground, and violence builds.
