Plot summary
Rose Newell lives in Los Angeles, away from the hometown where her parents, Frank and Sarah, run Payden Farms and grow tulips. On a visit home to the farm, she meets Tom Novak, a flower broker who works between the farm and the distributors who buy its blooms, and she learns that Payden Farms is faltering financially. Her parents are considering selling the farm to a competitor. Tom arranges a last-ditch effort: Frank's most special tulip goes into an upcoming flower contest, in the hope that a national showing will draw attention to the farm and bring in new business.
