Plot summary
The residents of an apartment building in Sofia want central heating, and the Journalist uses his connections to learn when their turn on the central heating network comes. It has not come yet, and nobody can say in how many years it will. After arguments and quarrels, they decide to hire private contractors, which is nearly illegal in socialist Bulgaria. Three men arrive, sign the contract and take the money in advance. They start working, drilling holes in walls and ceilings, and then they disappear.
