Tokyo Sonata (2008) on Netflix

Plot summary

Ryūhei Sasaki holds an administrative post at a medical-equipment company until the firm hires cheaper workers and lets him go. He keeps the loss from his wife Megumi and their two sons, Takashi and Kenji, and joins the line at an employment agency, where the only openings offered are far below what he wants. There he runs into an old classmate, Kurosu, who has also been out of work for months and hides it the same way. At home, Kenji, a middle-schooler, asks to learn the piano and Ryūhei refuses. Kenji has watched a piano lesson through a window on his way home, and he spends his lunch money on lessons instead.
