Plot summary
In 1985, physicist James Pratt succeeds in traveling back in time, and news of the feat shakes the scientific community. With the world's first operational time machine built, questions about what such a device means for morality fall to him, and he goes looking for what his life is for. The public is slow to accept the change, and among those resisting it is Mara, a pop singer whose single hit is behind her and who wants fame again. Protesters and naysayers meet the announcement, and James struggles with his own guilt. He has to defend his research, the person he loves, and the standing he has earned.
