Plot summary
In 2012, Los Angeles comedian Tig Notaro was diagnosed with invasive stage II breast cancer. Days later she performed a set of new material at the Largo, a Los Angeles comedy club, and the performance became a viral sensation, sending her career in a new direction. The documentary follows the year after that night. Notaro performs at clubs around the country, begins a relationship with Stephanie Allynne, and tries to have a child, all while dealing with a life-threatening illness. The film premiered at Sundance to rave reviews. Notaro said she hoped it would show a person taking risks and moving forward.
