Plot summary
The Hero Gang holds Hong Kong in fear, robbing a bank with an armed robot called Pioneer I that the police cannot stop. Maria, a loyal member of the gang, kills the mechanical maintenance staff who try to flee, to the displeasure of Master, a senior figure in the gang. Reporter Chong Chi Keung loses his job for failing to photograph the robot. Curly, who works in a police research department, builds a cannon that he hopes can fight robots and draws the envy of his superior. Whiskey, a young gang member unhappy with the gang's direction, resigns and befriends Curly in a bar. The gang sends Pioneer II, a second robot modeled on Maria's face, after Whiskey. The robot malfunctions, and Whiskey and Curly carry it off.
