Plot summary
Record producer Jimmy Lait and his girlfriend Wendy Kane come upon his friend House, wounded and saying he escaped from a secret medical facility where someone intends to kill us all. Lait leaves Wendy at the hospital while he supervises a recording session with The Impressions, and men who break into her room take her. An ambush follows, and Lait escapes with the help of Jagger Daniels. The two join Mister Keyes, a martial artist, after he fights off police officers trying to plant drugs in his car. The three set out to find Wendy and stop a plot to poison the water supplies of three cities with a toxin lethal only to Black people.

- The Beastie Boys took the title of their 2004 song "3 The Hard Way," on To the 5 Boroughs, from the film, and it samples LL Cool J's "El Shabazz"; 3rd Bass also reference the title in the chorus of "Wordz Of Wizdom" from their 1989 album The Cactus Album.
