Plot summary
Seven children of the Angulo family grow up inside their apartment in Manhattan's Lower East Side. For fourteen years the family stays largely indoors. Their father, Oscar, keeps the only key to the sixteenth-floor home and does not let his wife, Susanne, or the children leave, apart from a few closely watched trips each year. Susanne teaches them at home. Movies show them the city they cannot visit, and the six brothers, nicknamed the Wolfpack, restage scenes from the films they love, building their own props and costumes. The four-bedroom apartment belongs to the Seward Park Extension housing project, and the children know almost nothing of life beyond it.
