Trailer

Plot summary

A thousand years ago on the tropical island of Wongo, the king and the priestess consult about the marriages of the village maidens, whose men are heavy and hairy. Their wedding preparations are interrupted by Engor, a youth of Goona in the south, who carries a white feather of peace. His father, the Goonan king, has sent him to ask Wongo's men to join in repelling ape men who raid Goona by canoe at night. The maidens crowd to look at him, and Omoo is taken with his sleek, beardless looks. The Wongo men scoff at the tale and dislike the visitor, and Omoo's request to wed him enrages the king.
