Plot summary
A generations-long feud divides the Larson and Preston families in a Western town of little people. Calves keep disappearing from the Larson ranch, so Pop Larson sends his son Buck to learn why. Bat Haines and his men rope the animals from Shetland ponies and leave a branding iron with the initials of Tex Preston, the neighboring rancher. Bat also tells Tex that Buck's family is shooting his cattle. Tex rides into town to bring home his orphaned niece, Nancy Preston, and Buck meets her when he halts the carriage she is riding in.

- Producer Jed Buell got the idea for the film after overhearing one of his employees joke that if the economic slump kept going, they would be using midgets as actors.
