Plot summary
At the end of the 19th century, Luciano drinks his way through a small Italian town and does not fit in. The local prince seals a gateway civilians commonly use, and Luciano forces it open; soldiers beat him for it. He gives Emma a golden necklace he finds in the water, and her father, Severino, is unhappy about their romance. When Luciano hears word of a romance between Emma and the prince, he confronts her in the prince's presence and storms off. Instead of prison, he is sent into exile in Argentina, to Tierra del Fuego, where men hunt a shipwreck treasure.
