Plot summary
Men asked about Christina Walters describe her as a player in the singles market. She is an interior designer in San Francisco, and her friends are her roommate Jane and Courtney Rockcliffe, a divorce lawyer. Jane has just broken up with a boyfriend, so Christina and Courtney take her to a club to cheer her up. Jane feels out of place, and Christina brings a man named Peter over to set her up with him; he scolds Christina for her approach and leaves. Christina later buys Peter a drink and they spend time together, and he mentions a wedding on Saturday and an after-party at his hotel. She goes home instead, and the next day she talks about him without stopping, so Courtney arranges for the two of them to travel to where he is.
