Plot summary
Three years after his wife Annie died at a crossing, struck by a driver who did not stop, Steven Ray kills people for money. A fall from a building onto his cab sets off a panic attack in him, and the fallen man then tracks him down. Percival has tried many times to die and survived every attempt, his body covered in scars. He believes a curse keeps him alive and that their meeting was fate, so he pays Steven to end it. Steven thinks Percival is delusional but takes the job. He shoots Percival in the chest, and Percival lives.
