Plot summary
Laura Romero is a twelve-year-old sloth who lives with her Mexican sloth family: her mother Gabriella Romero Flores, her father Luis Romero, and her brother Mani Romero. The family runs a restaurant until a storm destroys it. They load their old food truck, Gordito, and head for Sanctuary City, carrying the recipes their family has perfected over generations and the customs that come with them. In the city they hope to rebuild the business and fit into a much faster pace of life. Customers soon gather for their cooking. Dotti Pace, a cheetah with a fast-food business of her own, takes an interest.
