The Sixth Man (1997) on Netflix

Plot summary

Antoine and Kenny Tyler are brothers who play together for the University of Washington Huskies, with Antoine the star of the team. In a 1986 game their father James coaches them, and Kenny, told to take the final shot, passes the ball to Antoine instead; Antoine misses and the game is lost. Years later, Kenny meets R.C. St. John, a reporter for the school, while the brothers celebrate a win at a nightclub. Antoine then suffers a heart attack and dies, and Coach Pederson breaks the news to the team. Without him the Huskies fall apart, and Kenny asks his brother for help. Antoine appears to Kenny as a ghost in a locker room and tells him that he came back because Kenny called for him, then aids the team without being seen by anyone else.
