Harold Sylvester

Harold Sylvester is an American film and television actor. A New Orleans native, he studied theater and psychology at Tulane University, where he played basketball on a scholarship. His first Hollywood role was Nathan in Part 2, Sounder, the sequel to Sounder. He became familiar to television viewers as Griff, Al Bundy's co-worker and friend at the shoe store on Married... with Children. His other television credits include the miniseries Wheels, the series Walking Tall, A Different World, and City of Angels, plus guest appearances on Hill Street Blues, Murder, She Wrote, and NYPD Blue. In films, he often played supporting parts, among them Fast Break (1979), An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), Uncommon Valor (1983), Innerspace (1987), and Corrina, Corrina (1994). He was a contract player for Universal Studios and wrote the screenplay for the 1998 television movie Passing Glory.
