Plot summary
On October 30, 1974, the 20th of May Stadium in Kinshasa, Zaire, holds an attendance of sixty thousand for a heavyweight championship bout between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali. Foreman is undefeated and undisputed, and at the time one of boxing's most powerful fighters. Ali, thirty-two years old, is the challenger and a former title holder. Promoted as The Rumble in the Jungle, the event becomes one of the era's most watched television broadcasts. The challenger intends to try a tactic called rope-a-dope for the first time, and the press conferences he gives before the fight are sometimes more entertaining than the fight itself.
