The Returned (2013) on Netflix

Plot summary

An outbreak that began in the 1980s turned its victims into zombies and killed an estimated one hundred million people. The medicine developed afterward holds the infection back only while it is taken, and a single missed dose sends an infected person into a feral state. It is made from dead feral zombies, and rumors say the supply will run out. The infected, known as the returned, face discrimination and violence. Kate, a physician who treats them, has been buying doses on the black market. Her husband Alex, a music teacher, was infected while helping a stranger who was having a seizure. He tells his friend Jacob, who accepts him. When protests turn violent and the government sets up quarantine camps, Jacob and Amber offer Kate and Alex a place at their home outside the city.
