Plot summary

Tanya Tucker, a country music legend who broke the rules of how women in the genre were expected to act, has been away from the spotlight for decades. Brandi Carlile sets out to write a whole album for her hero, drawing the songs from Tucker's own life. An unexpected friendship grows out of the collaboration as Tucker goes back into the studio to record While I'm Livin', her first record in a decade. The documentary follows the two of them through the studio sessions as the record takes shape, and they also wrote Ready as I'll Never Be together.
