Plot summary
Michael King rejects the idea that God, the devil or anything supernatural exists. Samantha, his wife, believed otherwise and went to Beverly, a medium, for spiritual help over many years. After Samantha dies, Michael confronts Beverly and blames her; she apologizes and asks him to leave. Grieving, he plans a documentary to show there is no afterlife and offers himself as a test subject for whatever rituals people believe in, posting an advertisement online. The first to visit is Gibbons, who tells how his abusive father died of a heart attack soon after he prayed to Satan for help. Michael calls it coincidence. Then Augustine, who calls himself a demonologist, and his wife Marsha take him into their cellar.
