Plot summary
At Rosedale High School, the cheerleading squad known as the pom pom girls has the attention of the football team. Johnnie and Duane, longtime rivals, both want Sally, while Jesse cannot settle between Roxanne, who takes to him, and Laurie, her closest friend, who does not. Sue Ann and Judy complete the squad. The players and cheerleaders trade pranks with their rivals at Hardin High, and the retaliation escalates, from an antique fire engine driven onto the practice field and sprayed over the team to an assembly where Coach Hartman and Principal Myers question a crowd of students who all claim the blame.
