Plot summary
Tom Jacobs has turned his knack for choosing gifts into a business, matching clients with presents suited to the people they care about. The holidays are his busiest stretch, which is how he came by the nickname Mr. Christmas. When his friend Paul asks for help finding something for his girlfriend, Jenny, Tom takes the job and sets about learning who Jenny is so the gift will fit her. The more he finds out, the more he enjoys her company, and the worse he feels about the position he is in, pulled between his heart and his oldest friend. With the holiday closing in, Tom dreads the approaching deadline, since finishing the gift will mean the end of his time with Jenny.
