Plot summary

Jaswinder, an oceanographer and the mother of Alice's friend Tarun, has come up with a method for ridding the ocean of plastic waste, and her documents on it are top secret. Before she can make it public, she is attacked and the documents are stolen. Soon after, she disappears without a trace. Alice, left as the remaining Peppercorn, goes looking for clues and comes across companies that deal in toxic waste and want to keep the documents from ever being published. The Peppercorns, five teenage friends, take up the search for whoever is behind the attack on Jaswinder and her disappearance.
