Plot summary
On a small island, Tuesday the scarlet macaw lives among a group of animals: Kiki the kingfisher, Scrubby the goat, Carmello the chameleon, Rosie the tapir, Pango the pangolin and Epi the echidna. Tuesday longs to see the world beyond their shores. A violent storm wrecks a ship nearby, and the animals find a stranger on the beach: Robinson Crusoe, an English cartographer, and his dog Aynsley. The islanders fear the newcomer, while Tuesday sees him as a way off the island. Crusoe realizes he cannot survive alone, and the animals do not speak his language, so living together takes work. Two cats from the ship, Mal and May, also reach the island and cause trouble.
